I was born and raised in Alabama so I’ve heard a country song or two. At one point Garth Brooks’ “Friends in Low Places” was a big hit and many times I’ve been tempted to sing the song several times during Mets games because of our friends in low places. By that I mean the bottom of the order where Omir Santos and Ramon Castro play, or as I like to call them Omon Santstro.

Just last week the New York Mets went on a four game losing streak and lost their spot at the top of the National League East standings. Many Mets fans began to panic. It looked like the New York Mets were falling apart and that the 2009 season could be a bust. The optimist in me never believed the Mets were doing as bad as anybody said they were doing and I’ll tell you why.

Everywhere I look I see New York Mets fans saying the Mets should sign Manny Ramirez. Is there anybody that doesn’t want Manny Ramirez?
There have been many posts on this blog about why the New York Mets should sign this guy or that guy. Today I will make my argument for Adam Dunn.

In a previous post my fellow blogger Brian talked about how the New York Mets should be wary of Orlando Hudson. I was glad to see that Brian wasn’t convinced Orlando Hudson was the answer because I never thought he was either. Instead I’d like to see the Mets get an outfielder but not Manny Ramirez. But what outfielder? Ken Griffey.
